The Future of Construction – How to Build Green and Responsibly in Poland and Norway at BUDMA 2025

On February 12, 2025, we participated in the BUDMA 2025 trade fair, during which the event "The Future of Construction – How to Build Green and Responsibly in Poland and Norway" was organized by the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development (PARP) in cooperation with Innovation Norway.

During the event, we focused on concrete solutions that are already reducing CO₂ emissions in construction today. We did not talk about the future but about the technologies we use daily when designing and implementing sustainable investments in Poland and Scandinavia.

One of the key points of the program was the panel discussion "The Role of Sustainable Actions in Construction and the Importance of Construction for Climate and Ecology," in which Tomasz Kieżel, Director of Export Markets Construction at Unihouse S.A., participated. Together with other construction industry experts, he discussed how modern prefabrication technologies enable faster, more efficient construction with greater respect for the environment.

Prefabrication as a Way to Reduce CO₂ Emissions

During the panel, we addressed key issues related to reducing the carbon footprint in modular construction. Thanks to our many years of experience in the Scandinavian and Polish markets, we know that well-designed prefabrication significantly reduces emissions at every stage of a building's life cycle.

How Do We Achieve This?

  • We Build with Wood – A Natural CO₂ Storage Solution
Wood is one of the most environmentally friendly building materials. It comes from certified sources and stores carbon dioxide throughout the building's lifespan. This significantly reduces the carbon footprint of our projects.
  • We Optimize Material Use – Up to 80% Less Waste
Unlike traditional construction, prefabrication precisely controls raw material consumption. The factory production process minimizes waste, ensuring that each component is used in the most efficient way.
  • We Make Energy Efficiency the Standard
Modern insulation, airtight modules, and triple-glazed windows in our buildings significantly reduce heat loss. Lower energy consumption means lower CO₂ emissions and real savings for users.
  • We Reduce Emissions Through Shorter Construction Time
Prefabrication significantly reduces the time needed to complete an investment. Fewer transports, shorter equipment operation, and lower fuel consumption all contribute to a smaller carbon footprint throughout the entire construction process.

Modular Construction in the Green Transformation

During BUDMA 2025, a business mixer was also held, facilitating connections between Polish and Norwegian companies and institutions involved in green construction. Participating in such events is an opportunity for us to exchange experiences and jointly develop solutions that have a real impact on the future of the industry.

Modular Construction is No Longer Just an Alternative – It Is a Key Element of the Green Transformation

At Unihouse, we are not waiting for the future – we are actively shaping it by delivering modern, ecological, and energy-efficient solutions for the construction sector.

We would like to thank PARP, Innovation Norway, the organizers, and all participants for inspiring discussions and the opportunity to jointly promote sustainable construction. This event confirmed that prefabrication and modular construction are among the most effective ways to significantly reduce CO₂ emissions and minimize the environmental impact of construction.
